Stephen Austhwaite

The youngest of Edward Austhwaite's three sons, Stephen has always been a rogue. His brothers Richard and Brendan Austhwaite know full well of the notorious local thief known as "the Thrush", but they might be surprised to learn that Stephen and "the Thrush" are one and the same. The magi learned of his penchant for theft in the story The Curse of Mannanan and his secret identity was revealed during the story To Hunt the Thrush. Despite their knowledge, the magi have chosen to keep this knowledge to themselves. As far as Richard knows, "the Thrush" was hung at the crossroads, since a man posing as the infamous bandit was killed during the tale of A Pit for Pennington.
